Giving back to and being involved in our community is near and dear to our heart at EIM. Some of our Label Experts have even formed a philanthropy team, that serves as a liaison between EIM and local charities when volunteer opportunities come up. But when COVID-19 hit in 2020, some of our typical volunteering opportunities got tricky, to say the least, if not flat out canceled. But it made us even more excited to get back into volunteering this year!
‘Tis the season of cheer here at EIM—and nobody does cheerful gift giving better than The Label Experts. Turns out we have quite a few secret Santas on staff here!
We kicked off our holiday season by partnering with a local non-profit during Thanksgiving. The Label Experts’ brought out tons of turkey gravy, canned yams, stuffing, and other holiday staples that went to local food pantry, The Community Kitchen, to provide a Thanksgiving feast to locals in need.
Next up in our season of cheer was an opportunity that brought out our inner Santa! We partnered with Toys for Tots to bring gifts to kids in need in our community. Throughout December our breakroom slowly accumulated more and more toys, plushies, and board games. And as with most holiday shopping, a lot of gifts showed up at the very last minute!
In fact, one of our Digital PrePress Technicians accidently left toy shopping so last minute she had to call in a favor with a local toy emporium–and Santa’s elves came through! “I wanted to participate in Toys for Tots, but I didn’t have time to go shopping for toys—I also don’t have a lot of kids in my life right now, so I didn’t know what would be good for different age ranges,” she said. “So I decided to call our local toy store and ask if they would be able to help me by picking out toys. They were really great and selected toys I was able to pick up and donate. I was grateful for their help and really happy I was able to participate and support Toys for Tots.”
