Surf’s Up for EnduraLabel!

We dove into a custom order for weatherproof labels with a company that is all about adventure and fun! The request came from a waterpark resort in Texas, which draws visitors from near and far for surfable fun in the sun and more!

Whenever we hear there is water involved in our customer’s needs, we start kicking our label brains into gear to find the perfect product. You might think weatherproof outdoor label solutions are a dime a dozen, but the truth is there is more to it than meets the eye. Ripping waves on a surfboard means exposure to hot, cold, wind, sun, salt, and chlorine. The outdoor labels required for this client will see every natural element under the sun (except perhaps for fire—though we’ve got labels for that too).

While we are on the topic of harsh outdoor elements, let’s talk about what happens when run-of-the-mill labels are exposed to the sun . . . That’s right, you guessed it! They fade! Just like those old summer camp t-shirts kicking around in the attic! That is precisely why we needed to put extra care and attention into what customization the waterpark’s labels would need.

How Do You Weatherproof Labels for Sun Exposure?

Outdoor labels need to be readable and scannable for years to come. We have a feature we include in many outdoor label jobs that helps prevent the fade and keeps images crisp. UV laminate is a game changer if you have been struggling to find the right product. Choosing a high-quality label that will last years, rather than a lower quality product that will need to be replaced, is far more cost effective. It will also free up the time it takes to process another order and re-label all your inventory!

But UV laminate is just one of the features we needed for this waterpark! Another consideration for this job was wear and tear. These labels needed to be abrasion resistant. Not only will they be handled by countless resort guests, but they will be cleaned, moved, and stored regularly. If they are dragged on the ground, the label must stand up to those conditions too.

The jury is still out on whether we can hang ten on a surfboard! At least on our first try—but we have every confidence our label job will endure for our favorite Texas waterpark!
