Freezer Proof Labels for Food Distributors & Refrigerated Warehouses
A summer flavor to savor (and add freezer proof labels to!) is sockeye salmon. You might recognize it as the reddest of the salmon, with a flavor that rivals Chinook (king) salmon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, who also notes “U.S. wild-caught sockeye salmon is a smart seafood choice because it is sustainably managed and responsibly harvested under U.S. regulations.”
Perhaps the next time you go to put summer sockeye on the grill, your savory selection may have gotten to you with help from EIM’s Freez-R-Mark®, one of our specialty products for cold and wet distribution environments. While we support a number of seafood processors as well as fisheries researchers, Freez-R-Mark® can also be found in many other refrigerated warehouse applications. It comes with an aggressive adhesive that works very well on flexible packaging and corrugated―even when applied at freezer temperatures or subjected to blast freezing.
While sockeye can be found from Oregon to Alaska, the 2020 forecast for inshore sockeye salmon just in Bristol Bay is almost 35 million fish for commercial processing. That’s a lot of seafood in a very short season―with only a few weeks of fishing, and a few more to process, pack, and distribute. We just sent a complete labeling system with printer, software, and specialty labels to help out―and we’re looking forward to tasting the results:)
